Hello!
Well what a couple of weeks, It's been none stop since I posted the videos. However they have been removed!
As a background I used some wonderful music from a range of my favourite bands, however I didn't consider that the music is copyrighted so they have been removed from YouTube.
I hoping source some none copyrighted music online, until then keep checking back!

Logo Time!
Hello!
We are here under our new logo! I really wanted a simple logo that showed what the company was about and had the full name but wasn't over powering. I went with the grid background to emulate a gridded canvas ready for a painting. The face is self explanatory, the main features that a make up artist focus' on and then the company name. I think the logo looks really professional and I can't wait to use it in the videos!
First Videos on it's way, make sure you are subscribed to The Art Historical Make Up Company's Youtube Channel!

Filming Has Happened!
The Art Historical Make Up Company has filmed their first series!
Setting up the room took about an hour and with the help from the photography team at LJMU, I was set up with a professional canon camera and a standing double LED light, which light the room and the faces perfectly. After borrowing a stool from the fashion department the room was ready.
The first shoot was Cubism with Jess. It went really well, apart from the fact I forgot mascara, thats what editing is for! Jess really liked the look so wins all round!
Cubist Clown
Next Pre-Raphaelite, Ellie was a trooper and dyed her hair red for me! The hair really made the look, it bought it into the 21st century so very grateful she did that! Ellie's looked even more beautiful that than the run through with the professional lighting!
Modern Pre-Raphaelite Muse
We filmed Emily's Geisha look on the wednesday and by then I had got the hang of setting up lighting and cameras. We were in a different room which I preferred as it had natural lighting. This time I opted to a single LED light and this improved the quality of the footage greatly. Emily's complexion really suited the look so all my worries were for nothing (she even kept the lip look on all day!)

Run Through Time!
So run throughs happened this week! The wonderful Ellie took on the role of model for the evening and we took over her house with my make up collection!
A knock back this week was losing Isobel as a model. Luckily Emily my flatmate has stepped in but there has been a change in the line up, so Ellie is now our Pre-Raphaelite model. This has meant a hair change colour for her, but has also back up my inspiration of creating a modern version of a Pre-Raphaelite Muse. Jess has gone for the role of Cubist, her fringe hairstyle does fit in with this look. So overall it could have been so much worse! Every cloud!
I'm so glad I decided to do a run through as it highlighted some issues, especially with the Cubist look! First the pictures!

So overall the run through was a success! Pre-Raphaelite went off without hitch! Ellie looked amazing with her new hair colour, the shadows all blended perfectly, I was really happy. Both the Cubist look and the Geisha has some hitches. In my plans I had created triangle cheek panels which mimicked cheek bones. However when I applied this, the affect didn't play out on a human as wekk as it did on those paper sheets (told you they were tricky) So we put out heads together and thought we would try different shapes which actually worked better so that was a plus! The Geisha look just didn't come across as dramatic as I hoped, I haven't changed anything in hope that its just because of Ellie's currently look doesn't fit with that of a Geisha. So keep your fingers crossed!

Final Plans!
Hello!
After a week at home in Suffolk, I'm back planning filming days, which we now have! Sorted who to talk to about cameras today (Thanks Emma!) and I have room days!
Filming will commence on the 7th and 9th March, with Pre-Raphaelite and Cubism on the Monday and Geisha being filmed on the Wednesday so hopefully this fits in with schedules, sent out filming save the dates today!
Otherwise I'm continuing working on my final scripts, although I have decided to do a voice over. I feel it will be more professional and means all my attention can be on the looks and keeping the models comfortable!
Run through is next week so exciting pictures to follow!

Dates Book and Models Found!
Hello!
Well it's been a very productive two weeks here at The Art Historical Make Up Company!
First Look Sheets!
I have designed the three looks loosely! Turns out its actually quite hard to translate what you want to design onto paper when using make up, so that's been a complete learning curve! But They do translate what I want. I particularly like the Geisha look (Left hand corner) I found a stilla metalic foil which makes the perfect sheen on the eye, can't wait to give it ago on an actual eye! Which leads me to my next news!
I HAVE MODELS!
Jess currently is Geisha, Ellie is Cubist and Isobel has agreed to be Pre-Raphaelite and travel from Manchester for a filming day!
So overall great week!

Finding Models
Hello!
This week task was to find wonderful models for my new series, Get Ready With History. I've decided on my three looks which include, Geisha and traditional Japanese art, Cubism and Pre-Raphaelite.
These 3 are my current favourite art movements, but now I face finding a models for these looks. I am hoping to find students from LJMU as my models as this means they are covered by the universities insurance. Criteria is:
Geisha-
Dark Hair
Dark Eyes
Cubist-
Interesting Look- possibly contrasting hair?
Not Allergic to plasters or tape
Pre-Raphaelite- red hair, porcelain skin and pronounced lips
These are the basic needs for the looks.
So far I have two models, Jess and Ellie. I have asked a friend for the third look so hopefully she will say yes and we can get filming booked in!
